Brasilian farmer masked dancePerformance
In many villages of Northeastern Brasil, farmers put on costumes and masks on the holiday of the Epiphany to commemorate the three Wise Men. Animal and supernatural masks accomplish traditional dances transmitted through generations. Each village has it’s own masks and dances.
We have the honor of receiving one of these groups all the way from Brasil to perform their dances. The performance will be followed by a period of discussion with the public.
Dancers: José Demetro de Araujo, Joâo Ulisses Filho, Raimundo José da Silva
