For Étienne Decroux, the first major reformer of mime, and Jacques Lecoq, who developed a wide-ranging creativity centered on the idea of gesture, mask and improvisation were essential elements of their teaching methods. In improvisation, the person on stage enters a state of openness and catches inspiration as it arises, while those offstage learn how to truly observe. The mask brings the focus to physical expression and gesture.

Solo Fugère, long out of school, felt a deep nostalgia for the fleeting beauty of improvisation and decided to share it with the public once a month since the fall. Though the project is still young, it clearly meets a profound need: performers and audience members consistently show up. The mime-improvisation team is happy to make a detour into the countryside to offer you a glimpse.

The on-stage team:
Jennyfer Desbiens — philologist, Hellenist, actress, and mime
Vincent Langlois — bookseller and mime
Solo Fugère — philosopher, actor, and mime

Behind the scenes — logistics, communications, production, props, cables, suitcases, and everything else:
Tania Hernandez — clown and mime
