Learning Through Masks
Exhibition
For several years now, visual arts teacher and Saint-Camille’s resident Annie Morey has been collaborating with Masq’alors! by introducing her students to various mask-making techniques and encouraging her colleagues to get involved as well. We wish all our visitors—both indoors and out—a wonderful time exploring, right in the heart of the village.
TEXTILE MASKS FOR UTILITY POLES
Visual Arts Concentration, Secondary 1 & 3
Teacher: Annie Morey
After observing a variety of masks from diverse traditions—such as wrestling, Commedia dell’arte, and Japanese theatre—students created their own personal interpretations. Using wool and a technique called punching, which is typically used to make rugs, they brought their ideas to life.
