For eons the mask has been used on the battlefields to intimidate the adversaries and to identify clan alliances.

Since its beginnings in 1915 with the creation of the event Merveille Masqée the use of the mask has been intergrated in the professional wrestling ring. The idea of a masked double identity quickly caught on and fighters worldwide have adopted a new personas. In Mexico, in the kingdom of the Luchadors we witness a vast army of masked warriors. These masked are estimed as sacred and under any condition is the mask to be taken off of an opponent; to do this would create dire consequences.

For decades now, professional wrestlers have remained anonomous behind their masked identity, some are anthropormorfique and some delve into the world of demons.
