Contempory visual arts have been greatly influenced by traditional African art forms as the current scenic arts are being colored by contact with the theatre and dance forms from Asia – especially by the way the mask is utilized on scene. Whether they are from Japan; India, Indonisa, Sri Lanka, Tibet the ritual of making and wearing of the mask has a rich and profound history attached to it.
