On-site onlyIn Brazil, masks are used in different ways, it may be during festivals, within groups that maintain sacred or non-religious traditions, in carnivals or in indigenous rituals. This conference, describes these worlds, with the intention of understanding the mystic or mythic space that masks can transport humans to, it allows the bearer to become different characters and create a dialog with him self, his environment and his social group.
Dane de Jade, whose birth name is Rosiane Bezerra de Oliveira, is native of Northeast Brazil. She is an actrice and researcher, producer, art teacher, organizer and manager in culture. She has a PHD in Tourism and Culture from the University of Coimbra in Portugal. She has created shows and coordinated festivals in Brazil and in Portugal. She currently focuses on popular traditional culture.
